The town of Rosendale lies in the heart of Ulster County which, in turn, lies in the heart of New York’s historic Hudson Valley. Rosendale’s most historic claim to fame is as the source of “Rosendale Cement", used most notably in the foundations as both the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. Rondout Creek flows north-east through the town near the center, receiving Coxingkill from the south, and Cottlekill from the north. In the north-west part of the town are several small lakes, called the Binnewaters.
