Set on the western banks of the Hudson River Esopus was named from the American Indian word “esepu” when translated means “high banks”. Located approximately 100 miles north of New York City Esopus is bordered to the north by the Kingston Strand with great restaurants and shopping. For recreation one can visit museums, orchards and parks. There is quick access to the Hudson River and just a short ride to great hiking on the Mohonk Preserve. Within 20 minutes you’re on the New York State Thruway or boarding a Metro-North train. Beauty and location make Esopus a great place for year round or weekend living.
